A vehicle struck and injured a pedestrian on Ruthrauff near La Cholla (Tucson, AZ)

On Sunday, a pedestrian was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle on Ruthrauff near La Cholla in Tucson.

According to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, the auto-pedestrian accident took place near the intersection of Ruthrauff and Courtney Drive. Officials shut down some part of Ruthrauff as responding officers investigated the cause that led to the crash.

Reports showed that the roads reopened by 9:30 p.m. It is unknown whether the pedestrian was inside or outside the crosswalk at the time of the collision. The identity of the injured victim has not been released as of this moment.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
