A vehicle hit and seriously injured an 11-year-old child in Columbus (Columbus, GA)

On Sunday evening, an 11-year-old child suffered serious injuries after getting hit by a vehicle in Columbus.

As per the initial information, the auto-pedestrian accident took place on Brown Avenue. The preliminary investigation showed that a vehicle struck the child for reasons that are yet to be known.

On arrival, emergency personnel rushed the juvenile to a hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Reports further added that there was a heavy police presence as officers shut down a portion of the road near Amos Street. No other details have been released by the officials.

The incident remains under active review.
