On early Tuesday morning, a woman lost her life after getting struck by a vehicle on the west side.
As per the initial information, the fatal auto-pedestrian crash took place at about 3:30 a.m. The early reports showed that a driver failed to see the woman and hit her while heading eastbound on the highway. The woman, who was walking along the main lanes of the highway, succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
The driver pulled over at the scene and called 911 for help. As of now, the driver is not facing any charges. The identity of the deceased will be revealed once the next of kin is notified. Officials closed US Highway 90 near West Military Drive till 6 a.m. No other details were provided.
An investigation is ongoing.
