On Sunday, one person was killed after getting struck by a vehicle on Interstate Highway 880.
As per the initial information, the fatal auto-pedestrian accident took place at 1:09 a.m. on Interstate Highway 880 and Tasman Drive. The preliminary investigation revealed that a pedestrian jumped in front of a tractor-trailer in the southbound lanes for reasons that are yet to be known.
The incident occurred just south of the off-ramp of Tasman Drive, also known as Great Mall Parkway. The identity of the deceased will be released once the next of kin is notified. No other details are immediately available.
An investigation is continuing.
