A vehicle hit and killed a pedestrian in south Austin (Austin, TX)

On Monday night, one person was killed after being struck by a vehicle in south Austin.

As per the initial information, the fatal auto-pedestrian accident took place a little before 9:45 p.m. in the 600 block of East Ben White service road westbound. That is just west of Interstate 35. According to the officials, Ben White is back open now to traffic.

The events that have led up to the crash remain unknown at this time. It is also unclear if the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene or not after the collision. The identity of the deceased will be released once the next of kin is notified.

The crash remains under active review.
