A vehicle hit and killed a pedestrian in Bakersfield (Bakersfield, CA)

On Saturday night, one person was killed after getting struck by a vehicle in Bakersfield.

As per the initial information, the fatal auto-pedestrian crash took place shortly before 8:00 p.m. on South H Street near Isil Avenue. The early reports showed that a vehicle hit one person for reasons that are yet to be known. On arrival, emergency crews rushed the adult female pedestrian to a local hospital where she later died of her injuries.

Reports further added that the woman was not using a crosswalk at the time of the collision. The driver of the involved vehicle stayed at the scene and cooperated with the officers. Authorities believe that drugs or alcohol were not involved in the accident. The identity of the deceased will be revealed once the next of kin is notified. No other details are available.

The incident remains under investigation.
