A vehicle hit and killed 1 person on Westpark Tollway (Houston, TX)

On Monday morning, a pedestrian died after being hit by a vehicle on the Westpark Tollway.

As per the initial information, the fatal auto-pedestrian accident took place on Westpark Tollway, close to Synott and east of Eldridge at about 3:09 am. The preliminary reports revealed that the victim may have been a cyclist.

A vehicle and a bicycle with a significant amount of damage were dragged from the scene after the collision. A portion of the Tollway was shut down as crews worked at the scene, but it later opened again to traffic, officials mentioned.

The cause of the crash remains under review.
