A pedestrian suffered injuries after being hit by a vehicle on Interstate 45 in Galveston.
According to the authorities, the auto-pedestrian accident took place at around 4:45 p.m. on the outbound side of the overpass at Harborside Drive. As per the reports, a person stopped and came out of a vehicle on the roadway because of a mechanical problem. That person was then struck by another vehicle.
On arrival, emergency crews transported the pedestrian to a University of Texas Medical Branch hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Traffic on the highway was reduced to one lane as crews worked at the crash scene. Traffic lanes were opened again at about 5:30 p.m., officials stated.
The incident remains under investigation.
