A vehicle hit and injured a 12-year-old girl near Holland (Holland, MI)

On Tuesday, a 12-year-old pedestrian suffered injuries after being struck by a car near Holland.

As per the initial information, the auto-pedestrian accident took place at about 7:30 a.m. on 136th Avenue, close to Greenly Street in Holland Township. The preliminary investigation showed that a 12-year-old girl was attempting to cross 136th Avenue when she walked into the path of a vehicle. The driver failed to avoid striking the girl.

The driver quickly pulled over and called 911 for help. On arrival, medics transported the victim to the hospital and she is listed in stable condition. Authorities mentioned that she had abrasions and may have internal injuries. Officers believe that drugs or alcohol was not involved in the collision.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
