A two-vehicle crash injured a 60-year-old man near Lake Cavanaugh (Marysville, WA)

On Saturday, a 60-year-old motorcyclist, a resident of Marysville, sustained injuries in a two-vehicle collision near Lake Cavanaugh.

According to reports, the man was traveling northbound on Lake Cavanaugh Road at about 5:31 p.m. when he tried to pass another motorcycle that was on the shoulder. The other rider, a 29-year-old Mount Vernon man, turned in front of the Marysville man and both the vehicles crashed into each other.

On arrival, medics airlifted the Marysville man to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. The Mount Vernon man received minimal injuries and was transported to Skagit Valley Hospital for treatment. Officials mentioned that improper lane use was the cause of the crash.

The incident remains under investigation.
