A two-vehicle crash injured 2 people on Highway 371 and Highway 79 (Aguanga, CA)

On Wednesday morning, two people suffered injuries following a two-vehicle accident on Highway 371 and Highway 79.

The incident took place at about 11:30 a.m. at the junction of Highways 371 and Highway 79. The early reports showed that a sewage tanker truck was pulling about 2,300 gallons of sewage when it tried to cut the turn too close and lost control. The truck rolled over and landed on a Ford Expedition.

The sewage spilled onto the road due to the impact. Rescuers quickly responded to the scene and freed one person pinned inside the SUV. The victim was then airlifted to the hospital via helicopter with major injuries. Medics took another patient to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the truck remained uninjured. Hazmat crews came to the scene to clean up the chemicals from the tanker.

An investigation continues.
