On Monday afternoon, traffic was snarled for miles on Interstate 10 in Casa Grande following a two-vehicle accident.
Officials actively responded to the crash scene between the junction of Interstate 10 and Interstate 8 and Sunland Gin Road at about 2 p.m. in which two semi tractor-trailers were involved. On arrival, medics took the drivers of the two semis to Banner Casa Grande Medical Center for treatment.
The traffic was reduced to one lane eastbound on I-10 as diesel fuel was leaking onto the freeway. Officials shut down the eastbound I-8 ramp onto I-10, and rerouted the traffic through Casa Grande along Jimmie Kerr Boulevard to Sunland Gin Road.
An investigation is underway.
