On Monday evening, a man lost his life and a woman suffered serious injuries following a two-vehicle accident at an Atlanta intersection.
The fatal incident took place at the intersection of Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway and Elmwood Road. The early reports indicated that the woman was apparently heading eastbound on Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway when she failed to maintain control of the vehicle. The vehicle then crossed over the double yellow lines into the westbound lanes and crashed into the other vehicle involved.
APD’s Accident Investigations Unit was requested at the crash scene to assist. On arrival, responding officers found a blue sedan and a white Freightliner truck that were involved in the collision. They reported that the blue sedan was the vehicle at fault. Reports further added that a man, who was in the blue car, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities said that a woman, who is believed to be the driver of the car, was rushed to the hospital in critical, but stable condition. The driver of the other vehicle remained uninjured. The identities of the victims involved in the accident remain unknown at this time.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
