A two-vehicle collision injured 5 people on Mission Boulevard and Wallace Street (Jurupa Valley, CA)

On Tuesday afternoon, five people were injured following a traffic accident on Mission Boulevard.

As per the initial information, the two-vehicle crash took place at about 12:15 p.m. on Mission Boulevard and Wallace Street. Multiple engine crews responded to the crash site. Two occupants of one of the involved cars were pinned inside the vehicle. Rescuers used industrial saws and other gear to extricate the victims from the vehicle.

One of the victims suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to Riverside Community Hospital. Another patient received moderate injuries. The other three victims incurred only minor injuries. Medics transported all of them to Riverside University Medical Center in Moreno Valley. Officials partially shut down the intersection as crews worked at the scene. No other details are available.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
