A two-vehicle collision in Augusta led to injuries (Augusta, GA)

Injuries were reported following a traffic accident in Augusta.

As per the initial information, the two-vehicle crash took place at about 7:23 a.m. just before the state line bridge. According to the responding officers, the incident led to injuries, but it is unknown how many victims in total were involved in the collision. The accident caused traffic congestion on Interstate 20 westbound traveling into Augusta.

Traffic was jammed past exit 1 in North Augusta. The left westbound lane was shut down as crews worked at the scene. Drivers going into South Carolina should take Riverwatch Parkway into Augusta as an alternate route. No additional information has been provided.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
