On Tuesday morning, a two-vehicle collision took the life of one person on U.S. 127 in Leoni Township.
As per the initial information, officials actively responded to the area of northbound U.S. 127, close to Page Avenue after getting reports of a traffic accident a little before 5 a.m. The preliminary investigation revealed that a vehicle going southbound on U.S. 127 near the Page Avenue exit went over the median for reasons that are yet to be known.
Just then, that vehicle crashed head-on into another vehicle traveling north. The driver of the other vehicle died of their injuries after the accident. The authorities will release the identity of the deceased after notifying the next of kin.
The cause of the fatal crash remains under investigation.
