A two-vehicle accident killed 1 person on Airline Drive (Bossier City, LA)

On early Saturday morning, one person was killed and another suffered injuries following a head-on crash a block north of Kerr Elementary School on Airline Drive.

Officers actively responded to the area of 1800 block of Airline Drive at 6:30 a.m. after getting reports of a two-vehicle collision. On arrival, emergency responders found one driver with serious injuries, and transported him to Ochsner LSU Health Hospital where he was later declared dead.

The driver of the other vehicle was also taken to Ochsner LSU with minor injuries. The early reports showed that the vehicle driven by the deceased was going southbound when the man swerved into oncoming northbound traffic and collided head-on with the other vehicle.

Both the drivers were the sole occupants of their vehicles, officials said. At this time, it is unclear why the southbound driver went into the northbound lane. Alcohol is not suspected to be involved in the deadly accident. The identities of the victims remain undisclosed.

The cause of the crash remains under review.
