On Wednesday afternoon, two people lost their lives in a traffic collision just east of Dayton, Nevada.
As per the initial information, the fatal incident that killed the drivers of both cars took place at about 5:00 p.m. The preliminary reports revealed that both the cars had no passengers when the crash happened. All eastbound lanes of US-50 west of Occidental Drive are shut down on Wednesday evening as police work at the crash site.
NHP informed drivers in the area to anticipate delays as crews work at the scene. US-50 East near Occidental Drive was later opened again, but motorists are still urged to be cautious of emergency vehicles in the affected area. Authorities will reveal the identities of the deceased after notifying the next of kin.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
