A train struck and injured 1 person in south Austin (Austin, TX)

On Wednesday, a teen suffered injuries after being struck by a train in south Austin.

As per the initial information, the pedestrian incident took place near the intersection of West William Cannon Drive and Cannonleague Drive. At 12:16 p.m., officials reported that the person involved was “awake and talking”, but responders had to free the teen.

By 12:30 p.m. authorities said that the teen was transported to St. David’s South Austin Medical Center with potentially serious injuries and was declared a trauma alert. The crash site is approximately two blocks east of William Cannon Drive’s intersection with Menchaca Road. No other details are available.

The incident remains under review.
