A train hit a man at Lakewood MARTA station (Atlanta, GA)

On Thursday evening, a man got struck by a train at the MARTA Lakewood Station.

As per the initial information, the pedestrian crash was reported at approximately 9:30 p.m. at the station located at 2020 Lee St in southwest Atlanta. The early reports showed that a train hit a man. The extent of injuries sustained by the victim is unknown at this time.

Trains traveling northbound and southbound were affected due to the incident. A shuttle service was set up by MARTA officials between the East Point and West End stations including the Lakewood Station to accommodate the passengers. No other details are available.

The incident remains under investigation.
