On Monday afternoon, Highway 25 south of Waynesboro was closed due to a traffic collision.
As per the initial information, the motor vehicle accident took place at about 3:30 p.m. near the Burke County Airport. All lanes of the highway were closed between Airport Road and McMaster as crews worked at the crash scene.
As of now, it is unknown if anyone suffered injuries as a result of the collision. The events that have led up to the accident also remain unclear at this time. No other information has been released by the authorities.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
