On early Tuesday, one person died and three others suffered major injuries after a multi-vehicle wreck in Harper Woods.
As per the initial information, a driver in a 2021 Ford Expedition was heading east on Vernier Road at a high rate of speed when they ran a red light at north Harper shortly before 12:40 a.m. Just then, the Expedition crashed into a 2014 Dodge Charger and continued moving. The vehicle then struck a 2011 Cadillac CTS and ended up hitting a tree.
The driver of the CTS was rushed to the hospital where they were declared dead. On the other hand, the driver of the Charger, a passenger in the Charger and the driver of the Expedition are all listed in serious condition. Officers believe that alcohol was involved in the accident, and charges are pending against the Expedition driver.
An investigation into the fatal crash is ongoing.
