A SUV slams into a power pole and leaves 1,500 APS customers without power in Phoenix (Phoenix, AZ)

Around 1,500 APS customers were left without power overnight after an SUV slammed into a power pole and a fire hydrant in a central Phoenix neighborhood.

The incident took place near 16th Street and Camelback Road. On arrival, first responders took the driver to the hospital, but the severity of their injuries is unknown at this time. APS crews had to work for several hours to restore power in the affected area.

The events that have led up to the accident remain unknown. The identity of the injured victim was not revealed. Authorities have not provided any additional details in connection with the crash.

Phoenix Police is looking into the crash.
