One person died Sunday when a vehicle fell down an embankment on the northbound San Gabriel River (605) Freeway in Whittier.
As per the initial information, the fatal single-vehicle accident took place at 6:15 a.m. just west of Whittier Boulevard. Firefighters and paramedics were sent to the location at 6:18 a.m. and they did not transport anyone to hospital. The victim was declared deceased at the scene.
The events that have led up to the accident remain unknown at this time. The identity of the deceased will be released once the next of kin is notified. No other information has been provided by the officials.
An investigation is underway.
