On Saturday evening, a driver was killed while the passenger received injuries following a single-vehicle rollover accident on Interstate 80.
The fatal incident in Fernley took place just before 7:30 p.m. on June 19, near Wadsworth. As per reports, there were two people inside the car when the crash happened. On arrival, first responders declared the driver dead, and the passenger was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The cause and circumstances that led to the crash remain unknown at this time. Alcohol did not seem to have played a part in the crash. The identities of the deceased and the injured passenger remains undisclosed.
An investigation is underway.
