A single-vehicle crash injured a 5-year-old boy near Jenison (Georgetown Township, MI)

On Tuesday evening, a 5-year-old boy suffered injuries after a single-vehicle crash near Jenison.

Officers actively responded to the intersection of Pinewood Street and Crestview Avenue at about 5:15 PM after getting reports of a crash. The early reports showed that a Toyota Sienna was parked in the driveway of a nearby residence and a five-year-old juvenile was inside the vehicle. The boy bumped the shifter as a result of which the vehicle rolled backwards into a yard on the north side of Pinewood Street.

While the vehicle was rolling, the child reportedly left the vehicle and became pinned under it when the vehicle finally came to a rest. Witnesses rescued the child from underneath the vehicle. The boy was then taken to Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital with non-critical injuries. No other injuries were reported. There was no damage to any property as a result of the accident.

An investigation is continuing.
