A single-vehicle accident killed 1 person in northwest Harris County (Harris County, TX)

On Wednesday, one person died following a single-vehicle crash in northwest Harris County.

According to the authorities, the fatal incident took place near the intersection of Cumberland Ridge Drive and the Grand Parkway. Officers said that it seemed the driver was going at a high rate of speed and ran a stop sign before hitting a wall. On arrival, emergency crews pronounced the driver dead.

The passenger fled from the crash scene, officials mentioned. According to Harris County Sheriff, the accident was probably related to street racing or a road rage incident, but that has not been confirmed as of this moment.

An investigation into the deadly collision is underway.
