On Saturday night, a man lost his life following a serious traffic accident in Apache Junction.
As per the initial information, deputies actively responded to the area of Apache Trail and Mountain Road after receiving information of a serious crash at about 8:20 p.m. On arrival, deputies found two injured drivers. One man was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries who later succumbed to his injuries.
The other driver only incurred minimal injuries and refused to be hospitalized. Investigators are trying to determine if impairment played a part in the crash. No arrests or citations have been issued as of now. Authorities will reveal the identity of the deceased after notifying the next of kin.
An investigation is ongoing at this time.
