On Wednesday morning, NB lanes of Interstate 5 were shut down after a semi-truck crash in Tukwila.
The single-vehicle accident took place at about 9 a.m. near Mile Marker 157. The preliminary investigation revealed that the driver of the tractor-trailer hit a freeway barrier. At this time, it is unknown if anyone suffered injuries as a result of the accident.
According to the officials, an extended closure was expected in the area. Traffic on I-5 was rerouted to State Route 599 as crews worked at the scene. Officials later reported that all northbound lanes of I-5 in the Duwamish curve had reopened around noon.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
