According to the Police, a motor vehicle accident occurred in Bakersfield on Saturday evening.
The crash happened at F and 20th streets at around 7:30 p.m.
According to the officials, a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle following the collision. The pedestrian was found on the road suffering major injuries.
The victim was rushed to the hospital and was later pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the driver who struck the pedestrian was not revealed.
The officials are investigating whether distracted driving or speed played a factor in the crash.
