On early Sunday morning, one person was killed following a multi-vehicle wreck on Interstate 880 near Hayward.
As per the initial information, the fatal four-vehicle pile-up took place a little before 3 a.m. in the southbound lanes of I-880, just north of Whipple Road. The early reports showed that the four vehicles collided with one another for reasons that are yet to be known.
One person suffered major injuries and was declared dead at the scene by the officials. At least one other person incurred minor injuries. The identities of the victims involved in the accident remain unknown at this time. No other details were provided.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
