On Sunday, 27-year-old Giovanni Jimenez, a resident of Monterey, lost his life following a motorcycle collision on Casanova Avenue.
The fatal incident took place at 12:26 a.m., on the northbound lanes at the 600 block area. On arrival, officers rendered aid to Jimenez and his passenger. Jimenez was later pronounced dead at the scene.
Emergency crews rushed his passenger to Natividad Medical Center in serious condition. The identity of the injured victim has not been revealed at this time. The cause of the crash remains undisclosed as of this moment. It is unknown if any other vehicle were involved in the deadly crash.
The accident remains under investigation.
