A juvenile airlifted to a hospital after a two-vehicle crash in New Iberia (New Iberia, LA)

One young person was flown to a Lafayette hospital after a two-vehicle collision in New Iberia.

The preliminary reports showed that three juveniles were on the four-wheeler when it was hit by a vehicle at the intersection of Texaco Street and Daspit Road in the city. One of the juveniles was airlifted to a Lafayette hospital via a helicopter.

The extent of the child’s injuries remains unknown as of Sunday evening. The other two children also sustained injuries, but it is not confirmed if they required hospitalization or not. Impairment is not believed to be a factor on the part of the driver of the vehicle. No other details are available.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
