A hit-and-run driver struck and hospitalized a pedestrian in Santa Clarita (Santa Clarita, CA)

On Friday, a pedestrian was sent to the hospital after being hit by a vehicle in a hit-and-run accident in Santa Clarita.

At about 1:20 p.m. Friday, first responders received information of a traffic collision on the 19400 block of Stillmore Street in Canyon Country near Sierra Vista Junior High School, mentioned Marvin Lim, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Fire Department. “It was a traffic collision involving a pedestrian,” Lim added.

On arrival, responders took the patient to the hospital in unknown condition, as per officials on scene. The incident is being reviewed as a hit-and-run accident, said Lt. Jonathan Hoyt, with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station. Despite the crash being near a school, preliminary reports indicate that the person hit was an adult, according to Hoyt.

An investigation is underway.
