A hit-and-run crash took the life of a female pedestrian on I-880 in Oakland (Oakland, CA)

On Saturday morning, a woman lost her life following an auto-pedestrian accident on I-880.

As per the initial information, the fatal hit-and-run crash took place at 7:40 a.m. on southbound I-880, near the Hegenberger Road off-ramp in Oakland. On arrival, responders found an unconscious adult woman with injuries after she got struck by a vehicle.

The vehicle drove away from the scene after hitting the woman. The involved vehicle will likely have front-end damage. The Alameda County Coroner’s office will release the identity of the deceased after notifying the next of kin. No other details are available.

The incident remains under active review.
