A hit-and-run crash injured a woman on S Halcyon Road; Michael Kiss arrested (Arroyo Grande, CA)

On Tuesday morning, a woman suffered injuries after an auto-pedestrian accident on S Halcyon Road while officers arrested Michael Kiss who fled the scene after the collision.

The hit-and-run crash took place at about 8:00 a.m. in a crosswalk on S. Halcyon Road near Harloe Elementary School. The preliminary investigation showed that a vehicle hit a woman as she led two children across the street in a marked crosswalk. The driver fled the scene after the striking the pedestrian. On arrival, medics took the victim to a hospital with unspecified injuries.

The two children remained uninjured as a result of the accident. Police was able to find and arrest the vehicle driver, identified as Michael Kiss, on Farroll Avenue. Kiss was under the influence of drugs at that time and had a loaded firearm in the vehicle. Officers said that Kiss will be facing felony DUI with injury and a felony hit and run with injury. He was booked into SLO County Jail.

An investigation continues.
