A hit-and-run crash injured a 4-year-old child in New Orleans (New Orleans, LA)

On Sunday, a 4-year-old child was hospitalized after a hit-and-run accident in New Orleans.

St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office is in search of the vehicle from a hit-and-run crash. Officers actively responded to the crash scene at about 9:48 p.m. in the 600 block of Paul Fredrick Street in Luling. As per preliminary reports, an unknown make or model dark-colored sports vehicle SUV traveling at a high rate of speed hit a 4-year-old child who was in the roadway.

The driver firstly stopped but then escaped from the scene shortly after. Officials described the driver as a black male with dreadlocks. The 4-year-old juvenile suffered serious injuries as a result of the accident and is under observation at a local hospital at this time.

An investigation into the crash is continuing.
