On Saturday afternoon, a 76-year-old bicyclist, an Asian man, lost his life in a hit-and-run accident on Power Inn Road and Blackhawk Drive.
As of now, the authorities continue to search for the vehicle that was involved in the fatal hit-and-run collision. The incident took place south of the intersection of Florin and Power Inn roads. Authorities described the vehicle as a 2012 or newer dark green Toyota Sequoia with a Hispanic female driver.
According to the investigators, a vehicle struck a 76-year-old Asian man on a bicycle on Power Inn at Blackhawk Drive in the Florin area. When the driver made a right turn from Blackhawk onto Power Inn Road, she fatally hit the bicyclist.
Allegedly, the driver stopped and then escaped, running over the cyclist before heading along southbound Power Inn Road. The male bicyclist died of his injuries at the scene. Authorities will release the identity of the deceased after notifying the next of kin.
The crash remains under review.
