On Saturday, a woman lost her life after getting struck by an SUV on East Fourth Street.
As per the initial information, the fatal hit-and-run accident took place at around 6:30 PM on 1750 East Fourth Street, close to Highway 40 Motel. The preliminary reports showed that the woman was crossing midblock when she was hit by a westbound white mid-size sports utility vehicle.
The suspect vehicle immediately left the scene after the accident. The identity of the deceased will be released once the next of kin is notified. No other details have been provided.
