A hit-and-run accident killed a motorcyclist in Dearborn Heights (Dearborn Heights, MI)

On Wednesday, a hit-and-run accident claimed the life of a motorcyclist in Dearborn Heights.

As per the initial information, the fatal motorcycle crash took place at about 10:15 p.m. in the area of Van Born Road and Campbell Street. Officials from Dearborn Heights responded to the scene and, on arrival, found a 42-year-old Taylor man unconscious. He was rushed to Beaumont Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The preliminary reports suggested that the motorcycle was rear-ended by another vehicle that left the scene after the crash. Authorities described the hit-and-run vehicle as an older model Ford F-150. Reports further said that it might have been “greenish” in color, but they found red paint at the scene, so that is still unconfirmed. Reports also added that the hit-and-run vehicle should have front-end damage. It was last seen traveling west on Van Born Road, toward Telegraph Road.

The incident remains under active review.
