A hit-and-run accident killed a 57-year-old male pedestrian in Redwood Village (San Diego, CA)

On Saturday evening, a 57-year-old male pedestrian lost his life following a hit-and-run accident in Redwood Village.

The preliminary reports showed that a man was seen walking in and out of the roadway near the 5600 block of Chollas Parkway. This eventually led up to a pedestrian crash at 8:15 p.m. The reports also revealed that an unidentified vehicle heading north on Chollas Parkway struck the man and then left the scene.

The victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene. According to the eyewitnesses, the hit-and-run vehicle was a white Jeep. Authorities shut down the parkway at 54th Street while he crews worked at the scene. No other details are immediately available.

The incident remains under investigation.
