A hit-and-run accident claimed the life of a woman near SF City Hall (San Francisco, CA)

A woman lost her life following a hit-and-run accident near San Francisco City Hall on early Thursday morning.

As per the initial information, the fatal incident was reported at 1:05 a.m. in the area of Van Ness Avenue and McAllister Street. The victim, described as a woman in her 30s, was rushed to a hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.

The involved driver fled the scene after the crash and still remains at large. San Francisco police only described the vehicle as a SUV, but no details have been released regarding the suspect. The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under review.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
