A head-on crash killed a 76-year-old woman on FM 365 (Beaumont, TX)

On Tuesday, Texas DPS troopers actively responded to a reported head-on crash on FM 365 in Jefferson County at around 5:45 p.m.

The two-vehicle collision happened at the intersection of FM 365 and the westbound exit ramp of Interstate 10. The DPS crash investigation showed that a 2017 Chevrolet SUV was moving northbound on FM 365 and a 2006 Pontiac was going westbound on I-10 and took the exit ramp towards FM 365. The driver of the Pontiac approached the intersection at FM 365 and stopped at the stop sign, but for an unknown reason, the driver of the Pontiac pulled out into the way of the Chevrolet and was hit in the driver-side door.

Justice of the Peace Travis McCall pronounced the driver of the Pontiac, a 76-year-old female resident of Louisiana, dead at the scene. The name of the victim will be revealed after notifying the next of kin. The driver of the Chevrolet, 28-year-old Victoria Minaldi of Beaumont and two minor children (ages 4 and 7) did not suffer any injuries in the accident. Authorities shut down all northbound and southbound traffic lanes of FM 365 at I-10 for nearly three hours, but have since reopened to traffic.

An investigation is ongoing at this time.
