A head-on collision in Redding left three people injured (Redding, CA)

Three people received injuries following a head-on collision Monday night in Redding.

As per the initial information, the two-vehicle accident took place just before 6:30 p.m. on Highway 299 near Old Oregon Trail. The preliminary reports showed that a white Toyota Tacoma went over into oncoming traffic where it collided head-on with a newer-model black Chevy Camaro near Cheyenne Drive in northeastern Redding.

Two people inside the Tacoma received major injuries as a result of the crash. The Camaro driver incurred only minor injuries. Both directions were briefly shut down due to the wreck, before being reopened by 7:30 p.m. No other details are available.

The accident remains under investigation.
