The Texas Department of Public Safety reported a motor vehicle crash on Tuesday. The accident happened close to mile marker 354 west.
The fire truck and two patrol vehicles were hit by a tractor-semitrailer that was driving in the inside lane against traffic signals.
During the collision, a West firefighter was injured by a car and sent to Baylor Scott and White where he was later declared dead. Two troopers who had been injured in the collision were sent to Baylor Scott and White in Waco for medical attention.
The fatal crash is still being investigated by the officials. It is unclear what caused the crash. Additional information regarding the deadly crash is not available currently.
