A fiery crash killed 1 person on West Road near Zahadoom Way (Mendocino County, CA)

On Tuesday, one person was killed and another suffered injuries following a fiery crash on West Road near Zahadoom Way.

As per the initial information, the fatal single-vehicle accident took place on northbound West Road, west of Zahadoom Way. The preliminary investigation showed that the driver of a northbound 2017 Jeep Cherokee failed to maintain control of the vehicle, drifted off the roadway and hit a tree.

The impact caused the Jeep to be engulfed into flames. The drivers who were traveling near rushed to the vehicle and helped a passenger to come out of the burning vehicle, but they were not able to help the driver due to the rising flames.

Redwood Valley Fire personnel came to the scene and put out the vehicle fire. Reports revealed that the driver died of their injuries at the crash scene. The passenger suffered serious injuries as a result of the accident.

An investigation is ongoing.
