A fiery car crash killed a Lakewood woman on 10th Street and Long Beach Boulevard (Long Beach, CA)

On Saturday morning, a 40-year-old Lakewood woman lost her life in a fiery car crash on 10th Street and Long Beach Boulevard.

At around 10:45 a.m., a 51-year-old Los Angeles man was traveling on a 1994 Buick Le Sabre when the crash took place. Then, the driver sped away and struck a parked 2008 Honda Accord near 10th Street and Long Beach Boulevard following which he collided with a street sign, a commercial gas line and a tree.

The vehicle had caught fire due to the crash. Police mentioned that the man didn’t have a valid driver’s license and had no insurance. As of now, the authorities have not confirmed if drugs and/or alcohol contributed to the accident.

The police confirmed that despite receiving treatment from the Long Beach Fire Department paramedics, the female passenger dies from her injuries. The identities of the driver and the deceased passenger remain unknown at this time.

The incident remains under active review.
