A crash involving a car and a big rig reported in Santa Fe Springs (Santa Fe Springs, CA)

A crash involving a Sedan and a big rig was reported early Thursday in Santa Fe Springs.

The early reports showed that a flying car crashed through the top of a big rig with a sleeping driver inside before ramming into a building. The car reportedly crashed off a road and into a dry riverbed. The car then went airborne from the riverbed bank due to the impact and sliced through the roof of the big rig cab.

A broken fence marked the area where the Nissan sedan likely went off the road on Mardquardt Avenue in the southeastern Los Angeles County community. When authorities arrived at the location, a witness on the other side of the riverbed directed them to the crashed car. The truck driver was not hurt in the accident. The sedan driver was not at the scene when police arrived. No other details are available.

The incident remains under active review.
