On Friday evening, a man lost his life and four people, including an infant sustained injuries following a two-vehicle crash near Slidell, the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office stated.
The incident took place at around 5:40 p.m. when a woman in a Nissan Altima sedan traveling eastbound on Howze Beach Road made a left turn and came in the way of a westbound Ford F-150 pickup truck. A male passenger in the Altima succumbed to his injuries at the scene following the crash, deputies confirmed.
The Altima driver and two other passengers, one an infant and the other an adult, were rushed to a hospital. The driver of the F-150 pickup was also taken to a hospital. The extent of injuries sustained by the patients remains unknown at this time. Authorities will reveal the identity of the deceased after notifying the next of kin.
The crash remains under active review.
