A car hit and killed a male pedestrian on State Route 138; 22-year-old Jerry Tate involved in the crash (Palmdale, CA)

On Monday, a man in is 30’s lost his life after being struck by a car on State Route 138 wherein 22-year-old Jerry Tate of Palmdale was involved.

The fatal pedestrian crash took place at 9:35 p.m. west of 121st Street East. As per reports, the pedestrian was crossing the highway in poor lighting conditions when a 2008 Saturn Aura steered by Tate hit him.

On arrival, officers declared the pedestrian from the Antelope Valley community of Pearblossom deceased. Tate remained at the scene and was not arrested. The authorities will release the identity of the deceased after notifying the next of kin.

An investigation is continuing.
